I also found in my research on this book: The first story, “Justine or the Misfortune of Virtue,” is written by the notorious Marques de Sade in At first it is hard to accept that any woman would consent to such abuse and subjugation, and I was waiting for the turning point where O comes to her senses and realises she is being used like a whore by a pimp.
